When I shutdown the system (2.2.5) using shutdown -h now the system normally gives me a message "Power off or press any key to reboot" (or words to that effect). However, sometimes the system does not display the message (although it has clearly reached the same stage because pressing any key reboots and it doesn't show that the system was not shutdown properly on rebooting).
