My $PORTSDIR is mounted on another FreeBSD box 192.168.0.11:/usr/ports on /usr/ports (nfs) This is a part of the message when i did a make configure: ... Looking for apr source in ../apr Creating include/private/apu_config.h ... autom4te259: cannot lock autom4te.cache/requests with mode 2 (perhaps you are running make -j on a lame NFS client?): Operation not supported autoheader259: /usr/local/bin/autom4te259 failed with exit status: 1 Creating configure ... autom4te259: cannot lock autom4te.cache/requests with mode 2 (perhaps you are running make -j on a lame NFS client?): Operation not supported autoconf failed ./buildconf failed for apr-util *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/www/apache2. [status 1] ; I found that i can do a 'make configure' on the nfs server, but it is not good for a portupgrade on the nfs client unless i call portupgrade with -w.
