I've found that the following steps were necessary to get my old Kerberos setup to work again: Rename /etc/kerberosIV/master_key to /etc/kerberosIV/master-key Create /var/db/kerberos Move /etc/kerberosIV/principal.{db,ok} to /var/db/kerberos At the very least, references to "master_key" in the Handbook should be changed along the lines of "master-key (master_key in versions before 2.2.6)" just as with the sysconfig to rc.conf change. It would probably also be a good idea to publicize the bit about /var/db/kerberos, but I'm not sure how best to do that. Alternatively, the Kerberos code could be modified to fall back to files in the old locations. -- Matthew Hunt * Think locally, act globally. http://mph124.rh.psu.edu/~mph/pgp.key for PGP public key 0x67203349.
