Hi, I recently installed FreeBSD 4.2 on my laptop and i'm really glad with it, but there is one little problem that still forces me to use this ms-windows thingy... my dhcp ISP. I got Compaq Laptop with a supported Ethernet card, a 3Com Megahertz.. It's no problem cause I gave it once a fixed IP address and it worked very well.. But.. as soon as I wanted to get my laptop online without going thru my (BSD!) gateway, it began to do funny. I got a cable modem so I plugged the 3com pcmcia into the CableModem.. and did a reboot.. okay, the ep0 interface (my 3Com pcmcia card) was still 10.0.0.5, pretty normal. But, I've tried a lot of things now, i've written the man files over and over again, i guess i even know them by heart now.. and I searched your site.. but no answer. I found on that the problem is in dhclient .. It gives me address 0.0.0.0.. Can you help me? So i can finally get rid of this windows thing?
