I have been ordering my systems from Penguin Computing and installing freeBSD on their systems For under 6K I get the Blackfoot 2500 Series. With dual 600 P3 prossessors a Gig of Ram and 60Gig of SCSI LVD 10,000rpm disk space in a 3.5 inch high rack mount configuration with 4 hot-swapable drive bays. As far as RAID. always use Hardware RAID for the best performance. but a good RAID controller will cut into your checkbook for another $1000 or so. I am not familiar with the cards that freeBSD support but I know they are limited. Hope this helps a little... /Jeff On Mon, 17 Apr 2000, Simon Clayton wrote: > OK, here's a nice question.
