--------------010005040506050809020906 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Thanks for your work on OpenOffice. Two quick questions: First, I'm confused by some language in pkg-message: OpenOffice has now been installed in ${PREFIX}/OpenOffice.org1.0/ Once that is done exit X11 and run it again as the user that you usually use. Then run "make install-user" and do a standard workstation Thereafter, OpenOffice can be started using the ${PREFIX}/bin/soffice command. In "Once that is done," I can't figure out what "that" refers back to. It seems to be a vestage from rev 1.4 of the file referring to the network install that's automatically done by make install. Along the same lines, in "run it again," I can't figure out what "it" refers back to. Is the the correct sequence: As root: make install (does network install) As user: quit X make install-user start X run ${PREFXI}/bin/soffice If it'd help, I'll offer to submit a revised version of pkg-message that makes this more clear after I understand the process well enough to complete it myself. Second, Is there a way for me to build my own package of OO? I tried just make package, but it just tells me that it's already installed. The two-phase install seems to get in the way of make package.
