I just upgraded the 'master' of 2 machines to 6.1 (where the backup was already running 6.1 for a couple of days) and now I see my carp session 'flapping'. The master machine kept running master, the backup was switching to master once every 5 seconds I think, stealing some traffic and notifying me with: kernel: carp0: MASTER -> BACKUP (more frequent advertisement received) ... which of course is not true. I'm sure there is no firewall in the way (in fact I disabled it for a short while), I saw the vrrp advertisements (while the error occurs I see the machine that is suppost to be backup sending one advertisement every 4/5 seconds as well)... this config was running before, I'm confident there is something wrong. As soon as I remove the IPv6 address from the interface everything seems to work fine, role only switches when there's a reason for it. Philippe, did you create a pr? Paul
