While it does work on i386, it fails on amd64:

Fetching metadata signature for 8.2-RC3 from update5.FreeBSD.org... failed.
Fetching metadata signature for 8.2-RC3 from update4.FreeBSD.org... failed.
Fetching metadata signature for 8.2-RC3 from update2.FreeBSD.org... failed.
Fetching metadata signature for 8.2-RC3 from update3.FreeBSD.org... failed.

In contrast to the other releases, betas, and candidates, there is no
amd64 directory listed for 8.2-RC3, only i386:

http://update4.freebsd.org/8.2-RC3/

(It has been this way for a few days now, but since there was no
announcement, I thought it was still being worked on.)

Cheers,
Jan Henrik
