I have downloaded KERN.FLP and MFSROOT.FLP in binary mode from the site and also FDIMAGE.EXE. I have created the floppy disks to boot from. I have created a second primary partition on my hard drive using FIPS.EXE which I also downloaded from the site. I have also downloaded the BOOTINST boot manager and installed it. I have changed my BIOS boot order to CD, Floppy then hard drive but when I insert the KERN.FLP disk to boot the computer and turn on the power the computer stops after a few seconds. Nothing happens.... no error message. Only the cursor in the top left hand corner flashing on and off. Please, please help me..... I really want to install FreeBSD onto my computer but don't understand why it won't work. The floppies are fine because I tried them on another Presario and they worked, it was a 5000 series. I am using Windows 98 SE on a Compaq Preario 7481 with 128 MB of RAM, 10 GB Hard drive and an AMD 3D Now 550 Mhz Processor. Thanks for your help, Robert Kiely P.S. I have been in contact with Dru for a while but he was unable to provide a solution. If you wish to view the e-mails let me know and I'll zip them all and send them to you.
