Hi Murray-- I remember reading about this in the FDP Primer when I started learning about the FDP. .....where is this thing.....OK, see the "SGML Primer" chapter, the section on "Comments". There's an admonition to "Use 2 dashes", which explains that something is turning two consecutive hyphens into an em-dash. I wonder if there's some stylesheet parameter that can turn this behavior off?
