There are name conflicts and the base libstdc++ is very incompatible with EGCS. Somebody please help me understand -- what is the big deal with static libraries? You already run Netscape, linked against static Motif libs. In fact all of the packages on the FreeBSD CDROMs that use Motif are statically linked.
