After that any access to psm0 seems to hang the machine solid. For instance running 'moused -p /dev/psm0' or starting Xorg with psm0 as mousedevice freezes the machine immediately, and I have to use the power button to recover. This is an out-of-the-box 6.0RC1 Generic kernel. The only other change I've done is to disable acpi, though that doesn't change anything regarding the touchpad problem.
