I had a simular problem and Bill Fenner (fenner@parc.xerox.com) fixed this 
problem in the 3.5 release of the mrouted code. Unfortunately, this release
was finished after the deadline for 2.0.5. But you can still ftp the
the files from:

ftp://ftp.parc.xerox.com/pub/net-research/ipmulti/mrouted3.5.tar.gz

I do not know if the 3.5 kernel files are still available at this location.
