After a portsupgrade following a cvsup Friday 3PM eastern time, I get further in the startup process, but the gnome-powere-manager crashes, and I get a nautilus-debug-log.txt file. I now get a grey background with the top and bottom bars normally populated. When I open the Preference-> desktopbackground, the background appears with no further action by me, but it doesn't if I don't open desktopbackground, but no icons. The head of the nautilus-debug-log.txt file reads: ===== BEGIN MILESTONES ===== 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7117 (GLog): Failed to initialize libhal context: (null) : (null) 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7148 (GLog): Could not initialize hal context 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7153 (GLog): g_object_new: assertion `G_TYPE_IS_OBJECT (object_type)' failed 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7178 (USER): debug log dumped due to signal 6 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7225 (USER): debug log dumped due to signal 6 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7261 (USER): debug log dumped due to signal 6 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7292 (USER): debug log dumped due to signal 6 0x815a0c0 2007/01/08 07:14:17.7327 (USER): debug log dumped due to signal 6 with the last line continuing.
