Can you try to reproduce it with bigger journal partition? (double the size) Or try to set shorter switch time (sysctl kern.geom.journal.switch_time) The default is 10 seconds, you can try 5. You can also try to monitor values of some sysctl kern.geom.journal during test. Miroslav Lachman
