Just to clarify my intent: I=E2=80=99m not asking the FreeBSD base system o= r ports infrastructure to =E2=80=9Csupport pkg32.sh=E2=80=9D as an official mechani= sm. My goal with this PR was simply to get orientation on the current state of play: given t= hat FreeBSD 15.x no longer produces i386 packages, is there any known, reasonab= ly maintainable path for desktop users to keep Wine/Proton working for 32-bit Windows titles on amd64? >From the answers so far, it sounds like the currently supported interpretat= ion of =E2=80=9C32-bit execution remains expected=E2=80=9D is: run a supported = i386 world (13.5/14.x) in a chroot/jail, install packages inside that environment, and keep it isolated from the 15.x host userland. If that=E2=80=99s the intende= d/only supported route, that=E2=80=99s totally fair =E2=80=94 but it also means th= at the =E2=80=9Crun 32-bit Windows games via Wine/Proton on 15.x=E2=80=9D story becomes a jail/chroot = recipe, not a simple host-side setup. If that=E2=80=99s correct, I=E2=80=99m happy to help by: - writing or contributing documentation for an =E2=80=9Cofficially recomme= nded=E2=80=9D jail/chroot workflow for this use-case (including graphics/audio caveats), = or - helping test/iterate on a documented recipe so it=E2=80=99s reproducible= for typical desktop users. Also, in hindsight, this probably would have fit better as a mailing list discussion than a Bugzilla PR; apologies if filing it here created noise. If there is a better place to track/route this (Handbook docs issue, FreeBSD Desktop WG, ports docs, etc.), please point me there and I can move the discussion. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.=
