It might cause problems... and you definately don't need it. Just as a side note theres a file on ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/incoming called netboot something... and its got an updated netboot code in it that scans for IO's and when i did a "make" it compiled a ne2000.com out-of-the-box. If you need a ne2000.com and are still having problems send me your IRQ and IO and i'll compile it here and post it to ya.
