All this on a very recent current. See David Greenman's patches on the -hackers list, in reply to my "back up one after a sleep and run at it again" patch. They appear to stabilize NFS PAGE_BUSY problems. Also, I will post a patch a little later that result in a dianostic panic on a page stomp, and a better fix for vm_object_page_remove() based on discussion with John Dyson about my previous patch. I'm pretty sure the panic won't be hit (the result of a stomp is an orphan page, not a page alias), unless you are seeing the "magically zeroed page" bug. You will need to compile *with* DIAGNOSTIC and *without* MAX_PERF to test them, so be forewarned.
