-------- I've just seen the double fetch phenomena again: --------- gil jhs csh ttyp1 35 % make ===> tk-3.6 depends on shared library: tcl\.7\. - not found ===> Verifying build for tcl\.7\. in /usr/home/jhs/ports/lang/tcl >> tcl7.3.tar.Z doesn't seem to exist on this system. >> Attempting to fetch from ftp://ftp.smli.com/pub/tcl/ Receiving file: tcl7.3.tar.Z 100% 0 607400 bytes. ETA: 0:00 tcl7.3.tar.Z: 607400 bytes received in 82.44 seconds, 7.20 K/s. /home/jhs/.ncrecent: No such file or directory >> Attempting to fetch from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/FreeBSD-current/ports/distfiles/ Receiving file: tcl7.3.tar.Z 100% 0 607400 bytes. ETA: 0:00 tcl7.3.tar.Z: 607400 bytes received in 40.38 seconds, 14.69 K/s. /home/jhs/.ncrecent: No such file or directory Checksums OK. ===> Extracting for tcl-7.3 ===> Patching for tcl-7.3 ===> Applying FreeBSD patches for tcl-7.3 ===> Configuring for tcl-7.3 checking for ranlib --------- This time it was on a fully permanently internet reachable machine (unlike mine which is dial ip intermittent) I saw it in gil.physik.rwth-aachen.de:/usr/home/jhs/ports/x11/tcl a different host, albeit with almost same dot files in my ~ as on my home system I noiced I had 2 files: ~/.ncftprc --> dots/private/.ncftprc ~/.netrc@ -> dots/private/.netrc but no directory dots/private so i tried removing these bad sym link, removin tcl7.3.tar.Z & running make fetch again, it still fetched twice.
