I am trying to setup an X server (SVGA). Previous help from this list
pointed me to xf86config, which I have worked my way through several times
now.

I have a Dell Trinitron 800HS monitor with a horz 30-70; vert 50-120;
1280x1024@65; 800x60@85. (I tried choosing both 2 and 8 in the monitor
refresh prompt.)
I found "ARK 2000 1MB" on my video card and traced that to a "Diamond
Stealth64 Graphics 2001 series" assuming a RAMDAC of "ics5342". (Choice 140
in the cards, choice 21 in the RAMDAC, choice 4 in the clockchip).

I tried "X -probeonly 2>probe.txt" to find the clock but it wouldn't run
from anywhere, so I started putting in the clockchip line.

When I execute "startx" I get an error. I can't seem to " | more" the
output, so I can only see the last screen of messages.

Fatal server error:
No valid modes found.

When reporting a problem...<del>

X connection to : 0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
<-- End Screen -->

I have inspected my "XF86Config" file and found many (more than three)
different "Modeline"s, all of which have a DotClock an order of magnitude
higher than 2.169. Nothing I've tried so far has given different response.

TIA!

Roger
