I have FreeBSD up and running, but now its time to figure out how to connect all the peripherals. My system: Micron 66Mhz Pentium Conner 1Gb Harddrive attached to a NexStor PCI FAST SCSI-2 adapter Mitsumi FX001D 2x CD-ROM Conner Tape.Stor C250MQ tape backup connected to the floppy controller on the motherboard 1 3.5" floppy drive Microsoft Mouse NEC Silentwriter 2 Model 90 connected to a parallel port Practical Peripherals 144e (Hayes compatible) 14,400 external modem My problems: 1. Randomly my cd-rom gives the error message mcd1: media change and I cannot access it. Sometimes I can umount it and then mount it again. But usually I wind up rebooting to connect it again. 2. I have been unable to access the tape backup using any fd0? It is using the same floppy controller at the floppy disc that I can access. 3. I have no idea where to start on getting the modem connected. I have yet to run across the appropriate faq or documentation. Same for the printer. Where do I look? 4. I was following the directions on installing an X server, but I have not been able to see if the mouse is working. Works in Windows, but the "cat
