In case the OP is asking how to send an update for a port in the tree (the question is ambiguous): First you should read the porter's handbook here: https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/porters-handbook/ The handbook actually contains all you need to know and has pointers to external sources when required. Some basic knowledge of make syntax and shell scripting is required for simple things. for more complicated operations a deeper knowledge of those and other tools (and even some C/C++ programming in extreme cases) could be required. -- Guido Falsi
