It would be more intuitive that way. However I would like to leave the order the same in the messages: MD5 check FAILED for $src_files/$x /etc/$x MD5 check PASSED for $src_files/$x /etc/$x as it makes it easier to do an X windows cut and paste to your 'cp -p' command.
