Thanks Well, I actually meant that to diagnose the problem. Could be a fudged up $DISPLAY variable. When you log in and don't get a prompt, how long have you waited? Give it a few minutes. Do you eventually get a prompt? If so, sounds like DNS issues with $DISPLAY. -- Crist J.
