There is a program called "ansitape" that is in the comp.sources.unix
archives on most major FTP sites.  You will have to find out which
volume yourself.

I know it runs on VMS 9 tracks read with a Cypher drive with a differential
to regualr SCSI converter board.

No, I don't have access to theis wierd hardware any more.
