I am wishing to make a mobile install of FBSD/PAO with the machine dual booting WinNT. The reason I have to do this off the bat is this is a work requirement. The NT is functioning properly and I have set up partitions for FBSD using PowerQuest Partition Magic 5.0. I will need to load everything via the NT Bootloader. The partitions are setup as follows on my 10 GB Hard Drive: 2581 MB NTFS (My existing resized WinNT partition) 2040 MB FAT16 (to be used as a common area for files between the two OS's) 4965 MB FreeSpace (Future home of FreeBSD) ____ 9586 MB Total The background information above brings me to the install question. I have downloaded FBSD 3.3 Release and PAO files that go with it. I know the installer looks for the files on c:\freebsd which is my NTFS partition, the drive letters for the two partitions being C (NTFS)and D (FAT16)respectively. Can you install FBSD from an NTFS partition or is there a way to move the install directory to the D partition and direct the installer to look for the FBSD files there? Thanks and sorry for the long winded explanation, but I felt the background information was important to alleviate the sure-to-come responses about why I would want to do this ;-) Hope someone can help.
