I've checked the docs and the archives to no avail. The problem is that whenever I send a file to the printer -- an HP LaserJetIIIp -- all I get is what looks like plain ASCII output. I am running: WP8 - from the GUILG00.GZ file Linux `emulation' - i.e. the Linux base system apsfilter-5.4.2 I've selected the LJIIIp driver is the printer setup dialogue in WP8. I've set the fontpaths to the WP fonts in my `.xinitrc' and also in `/etc/XF86Config' - ie. xset +fp /usr/local/lib/corel/shlib10/fonts & xset +fp /usr/local/lib/corel/shlib10 & and, FontPath "/usr/local/lib/corel/shlib10" FontPath "/usr/local/lib/corel/shlib10/fonts" The printcommand in WP8 is set to: `lpr -Plp ' And finally, my `/etc/printcap' looks like this: lp|aps1-ljet3-a4-auto-300x300|Printer1 ljet3 a4 auto 300x300:\ :lp=/dev/lpt0:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/printer1-ljet3-a4-auto-300x300:\ :lf=/var/spool/lpd/printer1-ljet3-a4-auto-300x300/log:\ :af=/var/spool/lpd/printer1-ljet3-a4-auto-300x300/acct:\ :if=/usr/local/apsfilter/filter/aps1-ljet3-a4-auto-300x300:\ :mx#0:\ :sh: raw|aps2-ljet3-a4-raw|Printer1 ljet3 a4 raw:\ :lp=/dev/lpt0:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/printer1-ljet3-a4-raw:\ :lf=/var/spool/lpd/printer1-ljet3-a4-raw/log:\ :af=/var/spool/lpd/printer1-ljet3-a4-raw/acct:\ :if=/usr/local/apsfilter/filter/aps2-ljet3-a4-raw:\ :mx#0:\ :sf:\ :sh: What on earth could the problem be? Setting up AbiWord was simplicity itself compared with this.
