Maybe, it can help but I don't know how you only have > this problem and not me. It doesn't depend on the MIME type of file that is being open. But there is one thing that prevents the program from crashing. I have set in the properties the "quit.on.close.last" option, and whenever I close (Ctrl+W or File > Close) the last/only file being opened it wouldn't crash exiting. But when I exit the editor without closing files before then it crashes. I am using Bluecurve as a window theme and Metacity as window manager.
