STABLE (3.x) has a memcontrol(8) program that can do just that. I don't know off hand whether it can be ported back to 2.2.6, but it's worth a try. From the memcontrol(8) man page: set Set memory range attributes. -b base Memory range base address -l length Length of memory range in bytes, power of 2 -o owner Text identifier for this setting (7 char max) attribute Attributes applied to this range; one of uncacheable, write-combine, write-through, write-back, write-protect -- |Chris Costello |Programmer: One who is too lacking in people skills | to be a software engineer. `--------------------------------------------------- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-hackers" in the body of the message
