Which version of PCBSD is it? I flipped the default power save state in freebsd-head to be the lowest supported by the CPU and all the more recent CPUs will idle at a much lower power level. You could try putting these into /etc/rc.conf if they aren't already there: performance_cx_lowest=3D"Cmax" economy_cx_lowest=3D"Cmax" .. and disable powerd. Would you be willing to conduct the power test without the GPUs installed? There may be something missing in FreeBSD and they may not be clocking down when idle. -a On 23 October 2014 00:51, Zenny wrote: > Hi Adrian: > > I use hardwares for both. > > For temperature, I use IR Thermogun like > http://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products-Infrared-Thermometer-Includes/dp/B00N= I3HNQK/ref=3Dsr_1_3?ie=3DUTF8&qid=3D1414050390&sr=3D8-3&keywords=3Dinfrared= +thermometer > > For power monitor, I use a wattmeter like: > http://www.amazon.com/P3-P4400-Electricity-Usage-Monitor/dp/B00009MDBU > > Hope this clarifies! > > > > > > On 10/22/14, Adrian Chadd wrote: >> Hi! >> >> How are you measuring the CPU temperature and power consumption? >> >> Which version of PCBSD did you install? >> >> >> >> -a >> >> >> On 21 October 2014 23:25, Zenny wrote: >>> Even with new xorg, two things didn't work with my Radeon 3 head cards: >>> >>> 1. console switching did not work >>> 2. hdmi audio did not work. >>> >>> Tried also with PCBSD, the same results.
