(Hmm I pressed the wrong button and I didn't finish the idea ...)

I think that since this stuff is in the UNIX standard, and even in Windows,
this should be added to FreeBSD too.
That said, of course I can't wait for a decision so I reported the issue to the
z88 author and I'll replace the three ocurrences of gcvt() with snprintf().

I just thought I should mention that this application that I'm porting uses
gcvt() :

I quick search I did revealed that it is not dead:

And a look at the MSDN says that it also exists on MS-Windows.
