I have just recently  upgraded my kernel to 2.2.2 from 2.1.5.  As I 
tried to reconfigure my kernel and compile it, I get this error:


..deleted compilation stuff....
error 1
/usr/lib/crt0.o : file format not recognized.


I was compiling with gcc-2.7.2.1.

Any suggestions?  I have searched the mailing lists and found similar
problems, but could not find an answer.
