to fetch it ? disk space or you mean ia64 chips themselves ?

i'd be curious about how popular snapshots are for downloads - do
we need a similar number of servers for it as per ftp-masters, e.g
one in the us, one in europe and one in jp or should there be
more.

how often are they generated ? daily ? weekly ? 'ad hoc' ?
