Message-Id: <96Jan23.150720pst.177478@crevenia.parc.xerox.com> Date: Tue, 23 Jan 1996 15:07:15 PST Sender: owner-chat@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk I was particularly bored last night so I wrote a shell script that uses zplay (from mgetty+sendfax) to pay my phone bill automatically using Pay*By*Phone. (I was going to sign up for the "Automatic payment service" but the computer was never working and it would probably pay the full amount immediately, instead of waiting as late as possible). This way, I can have the computer pay all three phone bills, automatically, the day that I get paid. Via cron. Oh, will the geekiness never cease? In any case, I'd be glad to send out the shell script (it still needs at least a little bit of tweaking...) to anyone else who wants to have their computer pay their phone bill. I have only tested it on a ZyXEL but theoretically it will work on any voice-capable modem. Bill
