Ever since installing 4.6-RELEASE and up I've been having strange
problems with my sound cards in my systems. Sound will work for a short
while and then it will lock up with a steady repetitive sound, like a
skipping cd. One is a Soundblaster Live and the other is an ESS1370. I
had these sorts of issues in 4.5-RELEASE until I applied the patch in PR
kern/35004 at which point sound worked beautifully. Now there appears
to be a lot of changes in the files that get patched in the recent
kernel sources and they won't apply at all anymore. Has anyone else
seen this?
