I updated bsd.gecko,mk from the link you posted: http://trillian.chruetertee.ch/freebsd-gecko/changeset/951 It solved BOTH problems! (libvpx and the install issue). I deleted the symlink to libvpx.so and compilation/installation went on without a glitch. I tested it with all firefox port versions under www/ and they all went ok.
