--- Comment #9 from karl@denninger.net ---
As I noted originally....

I have a TP Link that identifies as:

ure0 on uhub1
ure0: <TP-Link USB 10/100/1000 LAN, class 0/0, rev 3.00/30.00, addr 1> on
usbus0

And it flaps like an SOB as well.

ugen0.2: <TP-Link USB 10/100/1000 LAN> at usbus0, cfg=3D1 md=3DHOST spd=3DS=
UPER
(5.0Gbps) pwr=3DON (72mA)

  bLength =3D 0x0012
  bDescriptorType =3D 0x0001
  bcdUSB =3D 0x0300
  bDeviceClass =3D 0x0000  <Probed by interface class>
  bDeviceSubClass =3D 0x0000
  bDeviceProtocol =3D 0x0000
  bMaxPacketSize0 =3D 0x0009
  idVendor =3D 0x2357
  idProduct =3D 0x0601
  bcdDevice =3D 0x3000
  iManufacturer =3D 0x0001  <TP-Link>
  iProduct =3D 0x0002  <USB 10/100/1000 LAN>
  iSerialNumber =3D 0x0006  <000001>
  bNumConfigurations =3D 0x0002

Using the same hack (set its configuration to "1") and it is stable.
