https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D277650 Bug ID: 277650 Summary: Remove supporting linking against Heimdal from base (GSSAPI_BASE) Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Some People Priority: --- Component: Ports Framework Assignee: portmgr@FreeBSD.org Reporter: michaelo@FreeBSD.org CC: ports-bugs@FreeBSD.org Created attachment 249111 --> https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/attachment.cgi?id=3D249111&action= =3Dedit Affected files Heimdal in base (1.5.2) is 12+ years old. It has problems with OpenSSL 3.x. Applications crash at runtime, e.g., bind's nsupdate recently and newly msktutil, kt5start (https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/ldap-issues-on-freebsd-14-0.91345/) and likely other Kerberos-enabled applications. I think it is about time to remove Heimdal base support from ports and force ports either to link to security/heimdal or security/krb5 or none at all. A non-exhaustive list of affected files/ports: (see attachment) --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.=
