Hello.
Just a curiosity...

On a 9.0/i386 box I have:

> #pciconf -lv
> ...
> vgapci0@pci0:1:5:0: class=0x030000 card=0x17041565 chip=0x97101002 rev=0x00 hdr=0x00

> device = 'RS880 [Radeon HD 4200]'
> class = display
> subclass = VGA

> %glxinfo |grep -i render
> IRQ's not enabled, falling back to busy waits: 2 0

Some 3D programs work, others are too slow.
Recently I got:
>Your system supports OpenGL version "1.2 Mesa 7.6.1..."

AFAICT my card should provide a much higher OpenGL version and the
radeon driver should cope.
Why this 1.2?

I tried looking around, but I tend to get completely lost in the maze
when I get to investigate the X.org driver and the ATI chipsets...

  bye & Thanks
	av.
