Apps like Gnumeric aren't there yet for the home user. Well, depending on what you need to do, cbb (in ports) works great as an account balancer. No, it doesn't have _everything_ Quicken or Money has, but I've found that I could enter and balance my checking account faster using cbb than my ex-gf w/ Money. YMMV.
