Indeed it does. Now I run into an unexpected machine check. This is one
tough nut to install.

  mces    = 0x1
  vector  = 0x670
  param   = 0xfffffc0000006000
  pc      = 0xfffffc00004e9fe0
  ra      = 0xfffffc00004e9fd0
  curproc = 0

This is halfway the newfs. I'm going home now. More tomorrow. Grmbl...
