As a project we DO NOT remove documented features from branches after the .0
release.  This sometimes mean we continue shipping a feature we had intende=
d to
remove as is the case for the jail_* variables.  It happens, we move remove=
 it
later and move on (I've removed code with decade "remove this soon" comment=
s.

On top of existing policy, removing this compatibility has little value tha=
t I
can see so we would cause harm to users for no real purpose.
