a) There has not been a MySQL-3.22 release in 4 months, so the port has 
not been updated in 4 months
b) MySQL-3.23 is still in beta
c) mysql323-* ports are currently being discussed (problems with the
included pthreads and the db3 support are currently unresolved)
d) If you find a port that is not up-to-date, you are welcome to send
patches to update it.  Since the vast majority of us are volunteers, ports
(among other things) get attention as time allows
