Can someone please tell me if there is a limit to the number of simultaneous processes that each user can run on a freeBSD system and a way to increase this number if there is? I recently modified a script which pings all 16 ports of our stallion card sequentially to doing it by running each ping process in the background. A similar script written to ping all 4 ports on a different freebsd box doesn't have the problem. The error I get is fork: Resource Temporarily unavailable. hope someone has a bright idea that may fix the problem TIA gb Would some one please stop this spinning ball, I wanna get off.
