I don't think there would be any fallout. http://www.FreeBSD.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/171621 Multiple maintainers are supported with that patch, and `make maintainer` returns the classical plain email address of the first listed maintainer. IMO, this is long overdue; NetBSD has done something like this for a while.
