I'm considering giving FreeBSD a tryout. But before I buy the CD I've got one question pertaining to my HD controller - a Promise DC4030VL2 smart/caching IDE. I have drivers for this controller for Unix - docs say ATT SVR 4.0 or SCO unix ver 3.2.x. What are the chances that this driver will install and operate under the latest FreeBSD release? Also, my main OS is OS/2 Warp. How well does FreeBSD co-exist with OS/2? Which boot manager would I use?
