IMO, these should go into separate log messages.  If you are
committing on freefall, it is quite easy to do that.  If you are doing 
remote commit, then it should be done in separate commit.

Who wants info about someport/pkg/COMMENT when viewing log of the
math/Makefile, or vice versa?
