When it finished, it prompted with the info below. I repeat the password 'passwordhere' = and I get back to the command line. Now, if I do a: /usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h PerlDesk -p password 'new-password' It comes back with the following error: PerlDesk# /usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h MySERVER -p password 'passwordhere' Enter password: /usr/local/bin/mysqladmin: at 'MySERVER' failed error: 'Host 'MySERVER.DOMAIN.net' is not allowed to connect to this = MySQL server' Why do I get this error? I just install MySQL on my FreeBSD 4.4 box using pkg_add -r=20 mysql-host.
When it finished, it prompted with the info below. It is=20 prompting me to do
a new password so I type = in:
/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin=20 -u root -p password 'passwordhere'
and it prompts me for a password. = I repeat=20 the password 'passwordhere' and I
get back to the command = line.

Now,=20 if I do a:

/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h PerlDesk -p = password=20 'new-password'

It comes back with the following = error:

PerlDesk#=20 /usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h MySERVER -p=20 password
'passwordhere'
Enter = password:
/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin: at=20 'MySERVER' failed
error: 'Host 'MySERVER.DOMAIN.net' is not allowed = to=20 connect to this MySQL
server'

Why do I get this=20 error?

This is done=20 with:

/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -u root -p password=20 'new-password'
/usr/local/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h MySERVER -p = password=20 'new-password'

You can=20 start the MySQL daemon with:
cd /usr/local ; = /usr/local/bin/safe_mysqld=20 &

You can test the MySQL daemon with the benchmarks in the=20 'sql-bench'
directory:
cd sql-bench ; run-all-tests

Please = report=20 any problems with the /usr/local/bin/mysqlbug script!
