Yep. Once you've setup a working configure build script for each version you want to keep, you just follow the releases on www.php.net. Usually I'm one or two days ahead from the official upgrade. I started the whole circus because I needed php5.X for a customer that had a homemade web app that he didn't manage to run under a more modern php.
