In case of fetchmail, it's questionable if the X11-based GUI configuration tool is part of _lowest_ common denominator. :-) Keep in mind fetchmail comes with great documentation (in the form of "man fetchmail"), and everything you need to do is to write (at least) one stupid line into .fetchmailrc that is really simple to construct.
